Creating Data Bar in Report builder 3.0 SQL Server 2008.

Start --> All programs-->Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Report Builder 3.0 will bring up the following display. Click on Report Builder 3.0.


The Report Builder 3.0 gets displayed as shown.


Click on the Insert.


Double click on the Data Bar.

After Double click on the Data Bar Display Shown below, then Select Data Bar Type--> OK.


Configuring the data source or Choose the data source .

Click on the Radio Button use a Dataset embedded in my report --> NEW.

Change name, type, and connection option. Click on the Radio Button use a Dataset embedded in my report.


This brings up the Data Source Properties window as shown. Click on the drop-down handle for "Select connection type:" as shown. Then Click on the Build... button. 

Fill the Server Name and Select or enter the data base name. Then Click on the Test connection--> OK. 


Write the Query then Click Query Designer.

Run the Query shown below. 

After completing the data source connection configuration Display is shown below. Then insert a Table. 

Click on the table column select the Emp_ID. 

Click on the table column select the Emp_ Name.


Click on the table column select the Emp_Salary. 


Double Click on the Data Bar show the chart Data and Enter the salary in value.

Enter the Emp_ID in category groups .

After the finish this displays window as shown. Then Click on the RUN Button.



Employee salary Data Bar is shown below.
